Two women from Mexico were pushed onto the subway tracks by another woman at a Manhattan subway station in the early hours of Monday morning, according to the NYPD and sources. The victims, aged 20 and 27, were shoved off the northbound F platform at the Delancey Street/Essex Street station on the Lower East Side just after 2:15 a.m. Fortunately, a bystander rushed to their aid and pulled them safely back onto the platform, with no incoming trains at the time of the incident.

The suspect, a barefoot female, was quickly apprehended by officers already patrolling the station and taken into custody. Charges are still pending, and it remains unclear why the suspect targeted the two women, who did not appear to know her.

Photos taken at the scene show the suspected subway shover being arrested by officials and one of the victims being assisted by police and EMS. The women, who were on vacation from Mexico, were transported to Bellevue Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.

The incident has raised concerns about safety in the city’s subway system and the need for increased security measures to protect commuters and tourists. While this was an isolated event, it serves as a reminder of the potential dangers that can arise in crowded public spaces.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and gather more information about the suspect and her motives. In the meantime, it is essential for everyone to remain vigilant and alert while traveling on the subway to ensure their safety and well-being.
