A Bronx prosecutor, William C.C. Kemp-Neal, has resigned from his position in the Bronx District Attorney’s office after a video surfaced online showing him allegedly trying to meet a young boy he had been communicating with. The clip was posted by a group called Dads Against Predators, known for exposing potential child predators.
In the video, which was recorded on July 8 at around 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Target store in Mount Vernon, the vigilantes confront Kemp-Neal, who immediately tries to flee when asked if he is Marcus. The men give chase and accuse him of trying to meet a 13-year-old boy for a milkshake.
The chase comes to an end when a bystander intervenes and puts Kemp-Neal in a chokehold, leading to a struggle captured on video. Despite the chaotic scene, no arrests were made by the Mount Vernon Police, who are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
Kemp-Neal, a recent graduate of Fordham Law, had been working as an Assistant District Attorney handling cases involving assault, harassment, and child endangerment. He denied all allegations made against him by the online vigilantes, but ultimately chose to resign from his position.
A statement from the Bronx DA’s office confirmed Kemp-Neal’s resignation, stating that he had worked there from June 28, 2020, until July 17, 2024. Despite the controversy surrounding him, Kemp-Neal has not been charged with any crime and could not be reached for further comment.
The incident has raised concerns about online child safety and the risks posed by potential predators lurking on the internet. It serves as a reminder for parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s online activities and be aware of the dangers that may exist in the digital world.
