A tragic incident occurred at a car rental office on Sahara Avenue, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving a man in critical condition. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call just after 12:30 p.m. and found the woman unresponsive in the back alley of the shopping center. Despite their efforts to provide medical aid, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inside the Avis Car Rental office, another man was discovered with gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to University Medical Center in critical condition. It was reported that the man and woman were in the process of renting a car when a white pickup truck approached them in the parking lot.

The suspect, who has not been identified, confronted the couple and after an argument, began shooting at them. The man was first targeted and then the woman before the suspect fled the scene in his truck. The entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras, providing valuable evidence for the investigation.

Although the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, it is believed to have been a targeted attack on the two victims. The Avis Car Rental office was closed following the incident, with customers being redirected to other locations. The shopping area was also closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation.

If anyone has information regarding the shooting, they are urged to contact the Metro’s Homicide Section or Crime Stoppers of Nevada. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
