A guy named Yusuf Kayat, 54, decided to ruin a young girl’s life by getting her drunk and high before manipulating her into doing some really messed up stuff with his buddies. This all went down more than 30 years ago between 1989 and 1992 when the girl was just 10 years old. The creep, known to her as ‘Kosh’, would take her for rides in his car around Dewsbury and Mirfield in West Yorkshire. He’d buy her booze, cigarettes, and weed, and then force her to do sexual things with him and his pals.

Originally, Kayat got slapped with a 20-year prison sentence with an extra year on parole for his disgusting actions on February 5. But hold up, that wasn’t enough justice for the Solicitor General Lucy Rigby KC MP, who thought it was way too lenient. So, she sent it to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentencing scheme to get it bumped up. And guess what? The court decided to extend his time behind bars to a whopping 24 years. Good call on that one.

Now, here’s the real kicker: Kayat denied everything, but a trial at Leeds Crown Court found him guilty of 17 charges, including having unlawful sex with a girl under 13 and indecently assaulting a girl under 14. He even got caught aiding and abetting indecent assault on a girl under 16. The victim, in a statement read to the court, shared how she’s been living in constant fear, dealing with anxiety, flashbacks, and panic attacks since the abuse. The impact on her life has been described as ‘profound and devastating’. But hey, at least justice is finally catching up to this scumbag Yusuf Kayat.
