An Ohio prosecutor was fired for biting off a man’s finger during a road rage incident. The former Greene County Assistant Prosecutor, Christopher Murray, allegedly attacked the victim after a honking incident at a green light. The victim’s finger was severed at the knuckle, and part of it was found under his vehicle.
Body cam footage showed the victim reporting the incident to the police, who arrived to find him covered in blood. The victim explained that he honked at Murray’s car when it did not move at a green light. Murray then approached the victim’s car, declared he wanted to fight, and a physical altercation ensued, leading to the gruesome bite.
The victim claimed that Murray fled the scene after the attack, but he dropped his phone, which was used to identify him as the suspect. Murray is now facing charges of felonious assault, and his case is pending before a grand jury. The victim received medical treatment for his injuries.
Greene County Prosecuting Attorney David D. Hayes stated that he was unaware of the incident until over a week after it occurred. After learning of the ongoing criminal investigation, Hayes placed Murray on leave and ultimately terminated his employment with the prosecutor’s office.
