And just when you thought that was it, a fourth dude around 45 years old was arrested for, you guessed it, “incitement to murder.”
The media is all over this story, claiming that at least one of the victims had ties to a criminal gang. But the police haven’t confirmed any of that, so who really knows, right? Uppsala seems to be a hotspot for gang activity in Sweden, with two notorious gangs, Rumba and Foxtrot, operating out of there. The leaders of these gangs, Ismail Abdo and Rawa Majid, are apparently pulling the strings from overseas. Things escalated when Abdo’s mom was murdered back in 2023. Talk about a rough turn of events.
Sweden has been dealing with gang violence for a while now, with shootings and bombings happening way too often. Just last week, a bomb went off at a house, injuring a mom and her kid. Turns out, the real target was a neighbor with ties to criminal gangs. In 2024, there were 92 recorded killings in Sweden, which is actually 29 fewer than the year before. Progress, I guess? Shootings were down by a fifth as well.
