A TikTok dude got killed in a real shady way while he was doing a live stream. Jabari Johnson, aka ‘Baba Skeng’ online, was taken out on Monday in Saint Andrew, Jamaica while he was filming live with another TikToker. The gruesome video of the murder shows Johnson, 25, having a good time and chatting with his friend just before the shooter came up from behind and popped him. The shooter, wearing all black and a mask, shot Johnson a bunch of times in the head and upper body, then took off running. The poor guy was the son of reggae star Jah Mason, and he was declared dead at the scene by The Jamaica Observer. Cops from the St Andrew North Police Division are looking into Johnson’s murder. We reached out to the police for a comment but haven’t heard back yet.

The brutal incident happened on Monday around 6:30 pm near Queenie’s Snack Shop on Red Hills Road. Johnson was apparently live streaming while playing a game with another TikToker. His dad confirmed to the Observer that his son was killed, but didn’t want to say anything else as the family is still dealing with the shock. This isn’t the first time a Jamaican TikToker has been taken out like this. Marlon Samuels, known as ’41 Busshead,’ was shot dead last December 20, 2024 in Montego Bay. Just two weeks before that, on December 7, 2024, Xavier ‘Niah Gang’ Fogah, 23, was gunned down in St Catherine. And in September 2024, a group of armed attackers killed 23-year-old Keauno ‘Popsy’ Watson.

But it’s not only happening in Jamaica. TikTok star Gordo Percui, real name Leovardo Asipuro Soto, and his wife Brenda Félix were shot in a gang attack near their home in Culiacán, north-western Mexico last December. Soto was hit multiple times and died on the spot, according to local reports. Félix was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and sadly didn’t make it.

It’s a real shame that these young TikTok personalities are getting targeted like this. Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like a disturbing trend that’s not just limited to one place. Stay safe out there, folks.
