So, like, this one time in Maine, the police finally caught a dude for the murder of a teen girl way back in 1984. Linda Maxwell, who was only 18, went missing on August 23, 1984, after hanging out with her friends. Two days later, they found her body by the St. Croix River in Robbinston, Washington County. The case was like, totally unsolved for years, but then, bam, the Maine State Police announced they got their guy. Raymond Brown, who is now 65, got arrested after a traffic stop in Bangor, Maine. Dude is facing murder charges and is chilling in jail without bail in Washington County. Police said they did some serious investigating to catch Brown, but they didn’t spill the beans on the deets.
Heather Henry-Tenan, a former reporter who was one of the last peeps to see Linda alive, spoke out about the case. She was part of the group Linda was with before she disappeared. Heather spilled some tea to CBS affiliate WGME back in 2015, talking about how she found out Linda was missing. Like, she woke up one morning, and her friend was all like, “Yo, Linda’s missing.” Heather was shook and wrote a news story about Linda every August for 21 years. She was super impacted by the case because Linda was around the same age as her, and it hit close to home. Heather was like, “That could have been me, man.”
So, yeah, this case was a cold one, and Maine police finally cracked it open. Linda’s memory lives on through peeps like Heather, who kept her story alive for so many years. Just goes to show you, justice may take its sweet time, but it eventually catches up to those who do wrong. Hats off to the Maine State Police for sticking with it and making sure Linda’s killer faces the music.
