Prostitution, robbery, murder, and assaults are crimes that could potentially be in a neighborhood near you, or maybe they already are. The Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua has made its way into the Big Apple and various cities across the United States, all thanks to the open borders policy of the Harris-Biden administration.
A recent report from The Post shed light on Tren’s rapid expansion into a criminal empire within the US. The gang operates from taxpayer-funded city shelters, where they coerce migrants as young as 15 to join their ranks. They engage in illegal activities such as selling guns and drugs, including the dangerous fentanyl-laced “pink cocaine”. Additionally, Tren runs brothels and employs thugs disguised as Uber delivery drivers on mopeds to carry out robberies in New York City.
In Queens, Roosevelt Avenue has been transformed into the “Market of Sweethearts” red-light district, with an abundance of prostitutes and individuals selling stolen goods. Migrant teenagers affiliated with Tren have been involved in robbing businesses and threatening New Yorkers with weapons until they surrender their valuables. The brazenness of the gang extends to the extent of shooting at law enforcement officers, a behavior that often goes unpunished back in Venezuela.
Despite efforts by the NYPD to combat Tren’s criminal activities, the gang continues to grow in the city. The secrecy surrounding the gang’s leadership makes it challenging for law enforcement to dismantle the organization. While not all migrants are criminals, many have fled their home countries to escape the violence perpetuated by gangs like Tren.
One Venezuelan migrant expressed concern about the growing violence in the US, stating that they brought their children to America to shield them from the criminal environment they experienced back home. The lax border policies of the Harris-Biden administration have facilitated the entry of Tren members through various channels, including the CBP One app and other pathways created to downplay the number of illegal immigrants entering the country.
President Biden and Vice President Harris have shown little regard for the consequences of their open border approach, with Biden largely absent from addressing the issue and Harris advocating for amnesty for illegal border crossers. If decisive action is not taken to secure the border and eradicate the presence of Tren de Aragua, the wave of gang violence and criminal activity is likely to worsen in American cities.
The upcoming elections will play a crucial role in determining the future of American cities. It is imperative that voters elect leaders who prioritize public safety and are committed to addressing the threat posed by gangs like Tren de Aragua. Failure to do so could result in a further escalation of gang violence, murder, and chaos within our communities.
