After nearly three decades, authorities have identified a suspect in the 1995 abduction of 6-year-old Morgan Nick in Arkansas. The little girl was taken from a Little League baseball field parking lot in Alma, near the Oklahoma border. Despite a thorough investigation and pursuit of over 10,000 leads, Morgan was never found.

Billy Jack Lincks, of Buren, Arkansas, was a person of interest early on in the case but was cleared at the time. However, recent DNA testing on evidence found in a red truck linked to him confirmed his involvement. Lincks passed away in 2000 while incarcerated for an unrelated crime.

The DNA evidence from the truck, which included strands of hair, was submitted to Othram Laboratory, a forensic genealogy organization based in Texas. The lab was able to establish a familial relationship between the DNA found in the truck and Colleen Nick, Morgan’s mother. This breakthrough has shed new light on the case and brought closure to the family.

Colleen Nick expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in uncovering the truth about her daughter’s disappearance. She shared a statement through Alma Police, emphasizing the enduring love and memory of Morgan. The family continues to seek answers and closure, urging anyone with information to come forward.

The investigation into Morgan’s abduction is ongoing, with authorities urging the public to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with any relevant information. The identification of the suspect through DNA evidence highlights the importance of advancements in forensic technology in solving cold cases and bringing justice to victims and their families.
