Beau Lamarre-Condon, the accused killer cop in New South Wales, is facing new charges in relation to the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies. Lamarre-Condon allegedly used his police-issued Glock pistol to shoot the two men at a terrace in Paddington on February 19. The bodies of Baird and Davies were later found inside surf bags in a remote location in Bungonia in the NSW Southern Tablelands on February 27.
Lamarre-Condon has been in custody since handing himself into the police on February 23 and was initially charged with two counts of murder. However, on July 18, he was hit with three new charges, including two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one count of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offense. The additional charges could lead to a maximum of 20 years behind bars.
The former senior constable has not yet entered his pleas, and his lawyer John Walford stated that he has not been informed of these new charges. Police allege that the murders were premeditated and part of a predatory campaign targeting Baird, whom Lamarre-Condon briefly dated, with Davies becoming collateral damage.
A triple-zero call was made from Davies’ mobile phone on the day of the alleged murder, shortly after neighbors heard gunshots at the Paddington house. Despite this, officers were unable to locate the source of the call in time to prevent the tragedy. Suspicions arose when belongings of the victims were found in a skip bin in Cronulla, leading the police to Baird’s blood-smeared share house.
During a court hearing in June, prosecutors requested more time to finalize their case against Lamarre-Condon. His lawyer indicated that the case may go to trial, and mental health grounds could be a factor in his defense. The hearing was adjourned for eight weeks to allow for the charges to be set.
Lamarre-Condon, who was dismissed from the police force in mid-March, joined the NSW Police Force in 2019 after running a celebrity blog. He was known for posing with various A-list celebrities, but now faces serious criminal charges. The families of the victims are closely following the legal proceedings from Queensland as they seek justice for Baird and Davies.
