A tragic incident occurred on Thursday night when a motorist was shot and killed while driving on Interstate 15. The shooting took place around 8:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes between Spring Mountain and Flamingo roads, according to Lt. Ken Nagle of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Lt. Nagle reported that someone from another vehicle fired a shot, hitting the victim at least once. As a result, the victim lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the center median. The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.

In response to the shooting, the southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down by the authorities by 10:30 p.m. as they began their investigation into the tragic incident. The police have yet to release any further details about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
