Well, well, well, seems like we’ve got ourselves a tricky situation over in New Orleans. A maintenance worker at the local jail has been charged with helping ten inmates escape. I mean, come on, who would’ve thought that the very people supposed to keep the place in check would be the ones aiding in a jailbreak? It’s like something out of a movie, except it’s real life.
The latest news on this wild escape story is that another one of the escapees, a 19-year-old guy named Corey Boyd, has been caught by the Louisiana State Police. That makes five down, five to go. Boyd, who’s turning 20 soon, is facing some serious charges, including second-degree murder. Yikes. Can you imagine what was going through his mind as he made a run for it with the rest of the crew?
The whole escape plan went down in the early hours of a Friday morning, with the inmates busting open a cell door and then breaking through a wall behind the toilet. I mean, talk about resourceful. They then made a break for it through a loading dock and even climbed over a fence using blankets to cover the barbed wire. The sheriff’s office didn’t even realize what had happened until hours later, with no deputy in sight and a civilian monitor off grabbing some grub. Not the most secure situation, if you ask me. But hey, who am I to judge?
