A man named Randol Contreras, who was begging for money, ended up stabbing a woman at a subway station in Queens, New York. The incident occurred at the Jamaica-Van Wyck E train station in Richmond Hill around 8:30 p.m. According to the police, Contreras, 24, demanded cash from the 23-year-old woman and when she refused, he stabbed her multiple times in the torso.
Fortunately, two good Samaritans intervened and managed to hold Contreras until the police arrived. The victim was quickly taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. Contreras, who hails from the Bronx, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with first-degree attempted robbery and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The situation has raised concern among subway riders, with one individual mentioning that such violent incidents have unfortunately become common in the area and at the station. This particular commuter expressed that due to the neighborhood and ongoing issues with the E train, such dangerous occurrences are somewhat expected.
