A police officer got hurt badly in the hospital after a ‘stolen’ car hit a police vehicle head-on during a high-speed chase. The officers from Greater Manchester Police got a call about a stolen car in Lancashire Hill, Stockport, at around 3:30 am this morning. They sent officers from the Roads Policing Unit to deal with the situation, and they started chasing the driver about ten minutes later. The driver ignored red lights and drove up to 110mph before crashing into a police car on Hyde Road, Gorton, around 3:55 am. Both the officer and the driver went to the hospital, but the officer got serious injuries to his arms and legs. A 21-year-old man got arrested for driving with alcohol, drug driving, and taking a car without permission. Traffic couldn’t move between Parkdale Avenue and Chapman Street. Hengist Street and Wellington Street parts are closed too. Chief Inspector Michael Parker of GMP’s Roads Policing Unit mentioned how risky their job is to keep the roads safe. An investigation is going on, and anyone with footage should contact the police.
