This past weekend in Las Vegas was marked by a series of tragic events, including two shootings and three fatal crashes. The violence began early on Saturday morning when two people were stabbed and another was shot at the Red Rock Resort on W. Charleston Blvd. All three individuals were rushed to University Medical Center, with two of them in critical condition.

Later that same day, a shooting took place at an Avis Car Rental office on W. Sahara Ave, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving a man critically wounded. The incident occurred as a couple was finishing their car rental transaction and was confronted by a suspect in a white pickup truck. After an argument, the suspect shot the man and woman before fleeing the scene.

In North Las Vegas, a deadly shooting took place at a house party, claiming the life of one man and leaving another man and a 16-year-old boy injured. The violent acts continued throughout the weekend, with three fatal crashes reported.

One of the crashes involved a suspected DUI incident at an intersection in North Las Vegas, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old girl who was a passenger in a Corvette. The driver of the Corvette showed signs of impairment and was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI resulting in death and child endangerment resulting in death.

Another fatal crash occurred at the intersection of West Desert Inn Road and South Lindell Road, where a Las Vegas man lost his life after a collision between a Geo Metro and a Toyota Rav4. The preliminary investigation suggested that the Toyota driver failed to stop at a red light, leading to the tragic accident.

Lastly, a 64-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by an SUV on Sahara Avenue in central Las Vegas on Friday night. The man was not using a marked crosswalk at the time of the incident.

These heartbreaking events have left the Las Vegas community in mourning and serve as a reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance on the roads and in public spaces.
