In a recent court hearing, chilling details about the alleged Georgia school shooter, Colt Gray, were revealed through his private notebooks. The notebooks showed that he had meticulously planned the attack on Apalachee High School, with disturbing drawings and notes found by investigators.

According to testimony from a Georgia Bureau of Investigations official, Colt Gray had written “shoot the teacher first” in one of his notebooks. Additionally, he had labeled a stick figure with a bullet going through their body as a “gut shot.” These details shed light on the extent of planning that went into the deadly tragedy.

Colt Gray’s father, Colin Gray, was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. It was revealed that Colin Gray had purchased the gun used in the shooting as a Christmas gift for his son, along with other items like a laser sight and tactical vest. This occurred despite his son’s deteriorating mental health and his mother’s pleas to keep the weapons away from him.

During the court hearing, it was detailed how Colt Gray concealed the rifle he used in the shooting on his bus ride to the school. He covered the gun with a white poster board in his backpack to make it look like a school project. Once at the school, he proceeded to his first and second-period classes with the gun still hidden.

After informing his teacher that he needed to see his counselor, Colt Gray went to the restroom, put on yellow plastic gloves, and took out the gun from the poster board concealment. He then proceeded to open fire in a classroom, before running down the hallway and continuing the shooting spree. The tragic event resulted in the deaths of two students and two teachers, with nine others injured.

Colt Gray was charged as an adult with four counts of felony murder. Despite the chilling details revealed in his notebooks and text messages sent to his parents before the shooting, attorneys for both father and son did not provide any comments during the court proceedings.

The notebooks recovered from Colt Gray’s possession contained detailed plans and disturbing drawings, indicating his intent to harm others. Testimonies from investigators shed light on the red flags leading up to the shooting, including references to previous school shootings and questions asked to family members about love and support in the event of a terrible act.

The court hearing provided a glimpse into the tragic events that unfolded at Apalachee High School, highlighting the importance of recognizing warning signs and taking action to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
