However, he continued to deceive Nadine by pretending to still be in jail and asking for money to bribe corrupt officials for an early release.
Despite being deported back to the UK on March 27, Texas continued to ask Nadine for money under the pretense of needing it for bribes to secure his release. Nadine, who met Texas on Tinder in 2018, provided Daily Mail Australia with receipts showing large transfers of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to accounts she believed belonged to prison staff. She estimated that she had sent up to $150,000 in total to help Texas.
Nadine also revealed that she had paid guards for unauthorized conjugal visits and provided Texas with phones and other gifts while he was in prison. Texas, on the other hand, blocked Nadine on Instagram and refused to answer her questions after his release. Nadine suspects that Texas may have used similar tactics on other women to obtain money for so-called remission payments.
In addition to deceiving Nadine, Texas was also involved in a drug-related incident in April 2020 when Indonesian police found drugs hidden in his villa. He admitted to buying marijuana during lockdown to cope with anxiety and mental illness, leading to his arrest and subsequent court appearance. Texas expressed remorse for his actions and was fined approximately $109,000 for his drug offenses.
