On July 30, 2024, authorities have arrested the suspect involved in the tragic murder of 22-year-old Las Vegas woman, Lesly Palacio, which occurred back in 2020. Erick Rangel-Ibarra was apprehended by law enforcement in Mexico, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police Department in a recent statement. The lifeless body of Lesly Palacio was discovered in Moapa Valley near Valley of Fire State Park in September 2020, as documented in court records. Shockingly, it was revealed that Rangel-Ibarra’s father, Jose Rangel, assisted his son in relocating Palacio’s body. Subsequently, Jose Rangel returned to the United States and turned himself in at a San Diego border checkpoint on January 19, 2021. Following his surrender, he was tried and convicted in a Las Vegas court for his involvement in the crime. Ofelia Markarian, the attorney representing Palacio’s family, disclosed that Rangel served approximately eight months of a two-year sentence before being released in August 2023.
