A New Jersey father, Christopher Gregor, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of aggravated manslaughter and endangering a child in the tragic death of his 6-year-old son, Corey Micciolo. The court was shown a shocking video of Gregor forcing Corey to run on a treadmill at high speed, leading to the boy’s death on May 31 due to injuries sustained from his father’s abuse.

Surveillance footage from March 20, 2021, revealed Corey struggling to stay on the moving treadmill belt, falling multiple times as Gregor continued to force him back on. In one disturbing moment, Gregor appeared to bite his son’s head. Corey’s mother, Breanna Micciolo, testified that she had filed for emergency custody after noticing her son’s bruises and learning about the treadmill incident, expressing fear for Corey’s life.

Despite seeking medical attention for Corey’s bruises, a doctor found no signs of infection or respiratory distress. Gregor accused Breanna of kidnapping when she missed the drop-off deadline, but later informed her that Corey was sick and had been taken to the hospital. Tragically, Corey suffered seizures and was pronounced dead that day. Gregor was initially charged with child endangerment, but later faced murder charges after a state expert determined Corey’s death was due to blunt force trauma.

During his sentencing hearing, Gregor asked the court to consider his love for Corey beyond the evidence presented at trial, expressing regret for not bringing his son to the hospital sooner. However, Breanna rejected his apology and called for the maximum sentence, stating that Gregor had shown no remorse after the incident or during the trial. She wore a T-shirt that read, “There is no excuse for abuse,” highlighting the nightmare she has been living since Corey’s death and her fear of Gregor’s potential release from prison.

Breanna expressed the devastating impact of losing her son, emphasizing that her family would never be whole again and her daughter would never meet her brother. She condemned Gregor for stealing her happiness and the opportunity for her family to experience the fatherly love that should have been given to Corey. The emotional courtroom scene captured the profound loss and grief experienced by Corey’s loved ones in the wake of this tragic incident.
